EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso native Lucy Scarbrough is a noted pianist, composer, educator and music leader.

She is also known for her powerful, yet sensitive performances, and her standing-room-only concerts.

Now she's being recognized with a prestigious award from the Polish government for her work promoting composer Chopin's music.

Scarbrough is the recipient of the Honorary Medal of Meritorious for Polish Culture, which is the highest award for Chopin classical music.
