A walk down memory lane before their walk across the graduation stage for Las Cruces students

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- Jornada Elementary school in Las Cruces received a visit from 30 former students Tuesday. Those students are now high school seniors.

This weekend they will walk across the graduation stage. Their visit was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As they remember their days as youngsters, they prepare for a new phase in their lives.

”It’s really interesting because I walked this hall. I remember them being very different from what they are now. So many memories are just coming back. I can’t remember what grade it was, but it had snowed, and they still made us come to school, and we didn’t do any work. We just went out had a snowball fight,” said Lindy Portillo, Centennial High graduate.

Students, along with hundreds more, will walk the stage this Friday and Saturday at the Field of Dreams football stadium.
