El Paso dairy farmers giving away milk and ice cream to encourage blood donations

MGN

EL PASO, (Texas) -- June is National Dairy Month, and what better way to showcase a spirit of nurturing than to donate blood.

Dairy MAX is partnering with local farmers for the Passion for Pints blood drive. It is a month-long initiative during which local dairy farmers will meet with members of the community and share the importance of donating blood. Local dairy farmers will also supply pints of ice cream and milk as a small thank you to anyone who gives blood.

The American Red Cross and others note that by donating just one pint of blood, a person could save up to three lives. Right now is an important time of year for blood centers, as their donations take a slight dip due to schools being closed for summer break.

Blood banks in El Paso are open now. Find a location here.
