Allison Winn Scotch has written popular novels including “Cleo McDougall Regrets Nothing” and “Time of My Life.” Scotch is now out with her 10th book, “Take Two, Birdie Maxwell” (Berkley). The story follows Birdie Maxwell — an actor who finds an old, unsigned love note and decides that fans will become invested if she makes a public effort to find who wrote it. In a Q&A, Scotch talks about the inspiration for Birdie, why reviews, requests and pre-orders matter in the writing business, and her favorite subject, Taylor Swift.
