SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico -- An El Paso elementary school student has died from injuries suffered when the ATV he was riding on ended up in the Rio Grande in Sunland Park over the weekend, authorities and relatives said Tuesday.

Two children and two adults were injured in Sunday's crash, with 10-year-old Clinton Stanley suffering serious injuries. All were taken to University Medical Center, where Stanley later died.

The accident happened in the 4700 block of McNutt Road, south of Country Club Road just after noon on Sunday.

Police said the driver of the ATV drove into the deep body of water and rolled it over.

The El Paso Independent School District said it was providing grief counselors at Western Hills Elementary, which the boy attended.
