Bob Davie out as UNM head football coach at end of season season
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — University of New Mexico head football coach Bob Davie will no longer be coaching the Lobos after the 2019 season, according to ABC affiliate KOAT.
Eddie Nunez, director of UNM Athletics, confirmed Monday afternoon that he and Davie had agreed to part ways.
“After meeting with Coach Davie this morning, we both agree that the time has come for a new direction for our football program,” Nuñez said. “I’m appreciative of the work that coach Davie has done at UNM.”
Davie will coach the team this week and in their finale game against Utah State on Saturday.
Davie has been head coach at UNM since 2011.
