Sun Bowl game to feature Miami vs. Washington State
EL PASO, Texas -- The Sun Bowl Association just announced that the Miami Hurricanes and Washington State Cougars will play in the 88th Annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on Dec. 31 with kickoff at 10 a.m.
The game is a rematch of the 2015 Sun Bowl — nicknamed the Snow Bowl after a rare snow storm hit the Sun City during the game. In that matchup, the Cougars defeated the Hurricanes 20-14.
The Hurricanes (7-5) won five of their final six games in the regular season while the Cougars (7-5) won six of their last eight. Both teams finished second in their respective divisions in the ACC and Pac-12.
The Hurricanes are led by ACC Rookie of the Year Tyler Van Dyke who has thrown for 2,931 yards and 25 touchdowns. The Cougars are led by Jayden de Laura, who has thrown for 2,742 yards and 23 touchdowns.
