EL PASO, Texas — The Borderland and much of the Southwest will experience a heat wave with the potential for record-breaking temperatures starting Wednesday.

The National Weather Service predicts hot weather from El Paso to Albuquerque to Phoenix and Las Vegas on Wednesday and Thursday.

In El Paso, ABC-7 chief meteorologist 'Doppler' Dave Speelman is forecasting high temperatures in the upper 90s for Wednesday and Thursday, but shy of the respective 102 and 103 degree records for each day.

Albuquerque’s high temperatures will go from the 80s on Tuesday to the 90s on Wednesday, while Las Vegas will see triple-digits.

In parts of Arizona, the temperature on Wednesday could reach 109 degrees and hit 112 the following day.

The National Weather Service indicated some heat records may be broken or tied.

    1. What hilarious is there’s no mention of global warming in the article yet just the mere mention of high temperatures sets you off. Damn, Alberto, you are a snow flake!

  1. Tell the farmers in the Texas Panhandle who have lost their farms due to climate change. What climate change hasn’t done to destroy their livlihoods, the orange buffoon did in his trade war with China. Climste change deniers remind me of the kind of people who used to deny evolution years ago. Sad sad people.

    1. Yup. I’ll be in mine next week drinking Miller Lite and blended Scotch whiskey. BTW – Contrary to what that moron markturner says it is nice knowing a good chlorine or bromine level kills viruses not just bacteria. I bet he doesn’t even read the labels on Lysol or Clorox disinfecting wipes. Kills 99.9% of all viruses and bacteria.
