WATCH: Escobar meets with Afghan refugees, soldiers at Fort Bliss

FORT BLISS, Texas -- On Thursday, El Paso Congresswoman Veronica Escobar toured the Afghan refugee camp at Fort Bliss' Doña Ana Village.

Escobar, along with two other members of the Texas Congressional Delegation who were joining her, held press conference after visiting with Afghan refugees and military service members. You can watch it in the video player above.

The Fort Bliss Army post is one of the eight U.S. military installations hosting refugees from Afghanistan as part of Operation Allies Refuge.

Democrat Escobar's visit comes one day after southern New Mexico GOP Congresswoman Yvette Herrell toured the Dona Ana Complex and criticized the Biden Administration's vetting process for Afghan refugees.
