Man whose body was found near the Sunland Park border wall identified
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A man who was found dead near the border wall just west of Sunland Park Sunday has been identified.
The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department said El Salvador resident Juan Chavez-Perez was found dead by Border Patrol Agents while patrolling the desert area near Sunland Park.
Officials from the Office of the Medical investigator said Chavez-Perez appeared to have passed away a few days ago.
According to Border Patrol, Chavez-Perez had been detained on April 4 and released back into Mexico. There was no other record of Chavez-Perez travelling back into the U.S.
