Stephanie Valle, main co-anchor
In January of 2020, Stephanie Valle assumed the role as main co-anchor of ABC-7 at 5, 6 and 10.
Stephanie started as an unpaid newsroom intern in summer 2001. She was soon hired as a reporter, then promoted to weekend anchor; she then transitioned to morning reporter and ABC-7 at Noon anchor/producer. Stephanie co-anchored the top-rated Good Morning El Paso and was the newscast's Executive Producer, and also served as the News Operations Manager and ABC-7 at 4 anchor.
Stephanie has covered an array of news in the Borderland -- from numerous presidential tours, to Pope Francis' visit to Juarez, to the execution of a convicted murderer.
In 2019, Stephanie launched the Borderland Crimes podcast. Each episode centers on a criminal case that occurred in the El Paso-Las Cruces region. The Radio Television Digital News Association has honored her work on the KVIA podcast three years in a row with the Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Podcast in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Stephanie also won the TAB's 2017 Best Series for her in-depth reporting on opioid-dependent newborns, and steered the Good Morning El Paso team to a win of Best Morning Newscast that same year.
The El Paso community has repeatedly named Stephanie both as best anchor and best reporter in the El Paso Times, The City Magazine and El Paso Inc.
Stephanie has two children and adopted into the family her first cat (thanks to KVIA's partnership with the Humane Society of El Paso!). She also serves on the Make-A-Wish North Texas Regional Development Council, The Plaza Classic Film Festival Program Advisory Committee, and on the board for Candlelighters, a nonprofit that helps families of children with cancer.
While she has run a marathon, she now prefers long walks or hikes and also enjoys traveling and reading.
