ABC-7 First Alert: Scorchin’ Juneteenth
El Paso, Texas- The triple digit heat will scorch the Borderland this weekend. On top of that we are dealing with an Ozone Action Day!
The Texas Department of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has issued an Ozone Action Day for the El Paso Area, in effect from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. Those with respiratory issues should limit any outdoor activities.
Afternoon highs will range from 104-107 degrees for Borderland Locations. I have El Paso set to hit near 105.
The mercury only increases for Father's Day. Afternoon highs near 108 degrees which could tie our old record set back in 1960. Fingers crossed that we don't beat it.
Isolated storm chances are in the forecast this afternoon and for the next several days.
