Peak gusts hit nearly 42 mph in northeast El Paso Monday afternoon. I'm anticipating gusts around 45 mph Tuesday. Winds will be out of the SW picking up speed during the afternoon and evening. Fire danger will remain high due to the winds and very dry conditions across the area. We haven't had any measurable precipitation since February 16 when we recorded only .02".

The winds will begin to decrease Wednesday with gusts around 30 mph and cooler temperatures around 70 adding to a little wind chill.
