Man fatally shot at convenience store

Benson, NC (WRAL) — A man was fatally shot overnight at a convenience store in Johnston County, the sheriff’s office said.
Two men wearing masks entered the Scotchman convenience store, at 12320 NC Highway 210 near McGee’s Crossroads, around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.
A store employee and the victim, who was not an employee, were in the store at the time.
Authorities believe the suspects were attempting to rob the store.
The suspects shot and killed the man and ran away.
It was not clear whether they stole anything before fleeing the scene.
