Ezekiel Elliott breaks 1,000 yards rushing, scores 2 touchdowns, but Cowboys still lose to Bears 31-24
CHICAGO, Illinois -- Ezekiel Elliott surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the season Thursday night, but Dallas still couldn't muster enough offense and came up short against the Chicago Bears 31-24.
Elliott's milestone moment came just a few minutes into the game on an eight-yard run by the highly-paid star running back, who also scored the first two of the Cowboys' three touchdowns in the game.
His first TD came on a two-yard run in the first quarter shortly after topping the 1,000 mark. Then, he scored the second TD on another two-yard run to start the fourth quarter.
It was Elliott's eighth and ninth rushing touchdowns of the season. (You can watch both touchdowns at the bottom of this article.)
He's now rushed for over a thousand yards in three out of his four seasons with the Cowboys. Elliott came up just a little short with only 983 yards in the 2017 season, when he sat out for six games on a suspension.
