OKLAHOMA CITY (KOCO) — Amid the chaos during Saturday night’s protests in Oklahoma City, a man could be seen going from person to person to provide medical attention.
The man, who did not want to be identified, told KOCO 5 that he helped at least three people before we spoke with him. As KOCO 5 was covering the protests live, we saw him help at least two other people who were hurt after tear gas was deployed and pepper bullets were shot.
“I’m certified in first aid and CPR, and I’m unemployed and not doing anything right now,” the man said. “So, there’s no point for me not to be out here helping people.”
The man said of the people he bandaged, one was taken to an area hospital, bleeding from the head. Another person he helped had a head injury, which he believes was caused by getting hit in the head with a tear gas pellet.
